Vanilla shortbread


  • 280 g butter
  • 125 g caster sugar
  • 425 g cake flour
  • liquid vanilla


  • Start by softening the butter so that it becomes creamy and for this you can use the microwave by gradually heating it on low power.
  • If necessary you can put the softened butter in a larger container to continue the recipe.
  • Add the caster sugar, then mix with a spatula. Sift the flour over it and add a cap of liquid vanilla.
  • Start by mixing everything using the spatula, then continue with your hands before pouring the shortbread dough on the work surface.
  • Mix the dough with your hands until you get a homogeneous shortbread dough.
  • Divide the shortbread dough into three parts. Roll each part to obtain 3 to 4 cm diameter rolls. Flour lightly if necessary.
  • Roll each roll in the caster sugar before putting them in the refrigerator to harden.
  • After cooling, cut each roll of vanilla shortbread into slices about one centimeter thick.
  • Place the vanilla shortbread slices spacing them out on a baking sheet covered with a greaseproof paper sheet or a silicone sheet.
  • Bake the vanilla shortbread for about 15 minutes in an oven preheated to 210 ° C, while monitoring the cooking process regularly.
  • After cooling, all you have to do is taste these delicious vanilla shortbread.
